WHAT IS HASH?
Hash (or hashish), is a cannabis extract made by separating the resin from buds (and/or sugar leaves). There are many different ways to make hash, but the common step among all process is by separating the trichomes and pressing them into a block, ball, cylinder, or coin. Hash can average between 30% – 60% THC$%, the process by separating the trichomes from the leaves also makes hash an extremely flavorful concentrate.
Some of the most traditional forms of hash comes from Afghanistan, Morocco, and India. Afghan and Moroccan hash were made by running dried cannabis through fine sieves. The sieves will create enough friction to help separate the trichomes from the dried plant material to make kief, which would then be heated by rolling into a ball, and pressed to produce dark, creamy, and very potent blocks of hash.
In India, on the other hand, hash was produced with a different method. People would take live cannabis flowers, and simply roll them back and forth between their hands. This will create heat between your hands and the cannabis material. The heat and friction will then slowly help the trichomes to separate from the actual plant material and create a thick, dark resin on the hands. This will then be rolled into balls and sold as charas.
Other forms of hash include rosin, bubble hash, and BHO, the latter two of which are made using solvents.
